INISIASI JURUSAN FISIKA TAHUN 2023
Jayapura – Kegiatan Inisiasi Jurusan Fisika Tahun 2023 dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 07 Oktober 2023. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Pantai Holtekamp KM 9.1, Jalan Ringroad Hamadi-Holtekamp, Distrik Muara Tami, Kota Jayapura. Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika kurang lebih berjumlah 70 orang dan 7 orang dosen, staf Jurusan dan juga alumni Jurusan Fisika. Selain mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika, bergabung juga beberapa mahsiswa dari Jurusan/Progam Studi lain. Kegiatan ini merupakan kegiatan rutin yang dilaksanakan setiap tahunnya. Kegiatan ini juga merupakan kegiatan penyambutan bagi mahasiswa baru tahun angkatan 2023 yang baru bergabung bersama di Jurusan Fisika, baik yang masuk di Program Studi Fisika maupun Geofisika. Tema kegiatan Inisiasi Jurusan Fisika Tahun 2023 adalah ” Family, Friendship and Force, Physics” dengan arti kekeluargaan, persahabatan dan gaya dalam Jurusan Fisika, FMIPA UNCEN. Persiapan kegiatan ini secara sepenuhnya dilakukan olah mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika di bawah komando Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan (HMJ) Fisika dan dikontrol oleh Pimpinan dan pengelola Jurusan Fisika. Acara yang dilaksanakan pada kegiatan inisisasi ini di antaranya: perkenalan mahasiswa setiap angkatan, perkenalan pengelola Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan, perkenalan dosen, materi oleh pengelola Jurusan Fisika, penyampaian oleh pimpinan Fakultas FMIPA dan games (permainan).
Pemaparan materi oleh Ketua Jurusan Fisika, Steven Y.Y. Mantiri, S.Si.,M.Sc.
Pemaparan materi disampaikan oleh Ketua Jurusan Fisika, Steven Y.Y. Mantiri, S.Si.,M.Sc. Penekanan materi oleh Ketua Jurusan yaitu bahwa setiap mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika perlu menata diri dengan baik dalam proses perkuliahan, membangun relasi yang baik dengan teman dan dosen serta staf Jurusan. Juga disampaikan bahwa setiap mahasiswa perlu memanfaatkan kemajuan di bidang informasi dan teknologi sebagai media untuk membantu dalam menyelesaikan perkuliahan. Penyampaian informasi akademis dari pimpinan Fakultas MIPA oleh Pembantu Dekan I FMIPA, Octolia Togibasa, S.Si.,M.Sc.,Ph.D. Dalam penyampaiannya bahwa diharapkan mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika tidak bermasalah selama perkuliahannya. dalam penyampaiannya juga bahwa model perkuliahan zaman sekarang berbeda dengan model perkuliahan zaman dulu, sehingga jika ada momen untuk mengikuti kegiatan MBKM dan Merdeka Belajar, sebaikanya itu diambil sehingga bisa memperoleh pengalaman tambahan selama perkuliahan di Jurusan Fisika. Dalam acara ini juga diberikan kesempatan kepada Dr. Yusuf Bungkang sebagai dosen senior untuk menyampaikan sambutan dan pesan serta kesan kepada mahsiswa sebagai bagian dari acara purnabakti yang telah dilakukan. Dalam penyeampaiannya, diharapkan mahasiswa Jurusan Fisika untuk semangat, ulet dan disiplin sehingga bisa beradaptasi dengan baik dengan dunia perkuliahan dan bisa menyelesaikan perkuliahan dengan baik.

Pemaparan Kesan dan Pesan oleh Dr. Yusuf Bungkang
Pada kegiatan games (permainan), terdapat dua permainan berhadiah yang dilaksanakan yaitu sebuah games yang melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa dan sebuah game yang hanya melibatkan mahasiswa. Pada games yang pertama dengan konsep kelompok-serang, dimana dibentuk 6 kelompok dimana setiap kelompok terdiri atas 6 orang dimana setiap kelompok terdapat seorang dosen/staf Jurusan Fisika. Pada games ini dimenangkan oleh kelompok dibawah komando Sekretaris Jurusan, Kezia N. Anou, S.Si.,M.Si. Pada games kedua berupa memindahkan karet gelang menggunakan sedotan di dalam satu kelompok, yang terdiri atas 6 kelompok. Nilai moral yang diperoleh dari permainan-permainan ini adalah memupuk kebersamaan, kekeluargaan dan kepercayaan di dalam sebuah tim atau keluarga besar, dalam hal ini Jurusan Fisika.
